Brilliant One Minute Presentation

I’ve heard numerous times about the need to have a 1 minute presentation ready to go at all times. But no one ever broke down what to say and how to say it for me. I’m sure people all around the world have been banging their heads against the wall trying to figure out what to say to peak a prospects interest, I know I have. The problem is, many networkers are spewing out way too much information. We must remember the golden rule… Keep it simple! For instance, do we really need to go telling our prospect all about our organic, vegan products, or our state of the art telephony system? No! We don’t… They don’t need to know that stuff yet, if they join you in your business, all that stuff can be shared in training. Do they need to know all about our compensation plan… No, they haven’t even started yet, and must Network Marketers don’t understand theirs that well anyway.

There are only three basic questions in our prospects’ head that we need to answer in our presentation:

1. What kind of business are you in?

2. How much money can I make?

3. What do I have to do to earn that money?

So, here’s an example for lets say… someone in the health and wellness industry:

“Hey Bob, I can give you a complete presentation but it would take an entire minute.”

“When could you set aside a whole minute?”

Naturally most people will say now here, because we are not trying to drag them to our opportunity meeting or show them our 20 minute DVD.

So after we get a “right now”, we say:

“Don’t change – continue to promote and recommend as you always do.” Like talking about the great restaurant you visited, or the new pillow you just bought.

“We are in the Health and Wellness business – we have a product that has me feeling like I’m 19 years old again. All you have to do is recommend our product to 15 people helping them feel younger and more energetic, and help one person a month get started doing the same, and you’ll earn $100 per month” (or whatever is consistent with your comp plan).

STOP and close with one simple line:

“What do you think?” or “And that’s it!” or “And the rest is up to you!” Something simple like that.

At that point, if you aren’t already getting questions, change the subject to something totally unrelated. Something about them.

Watch the magic happen…

Focusing on the Present

One of the largest hurdles for meditation for beginners is learning to focus on the here and now. To learn what it means to find the space to see the now, to see what it means to live in the moment. Most of us are entirely unable to to do this. We have a panel of judges who condemn us for past failures that only remotely resemble our current circumstances. Every time we listen to those inner critics we relive the past.

When beginning to learn meditation, the learner may suddenly believe that they cannot meditate because when they were a child they could not sit still and listen in school. This thought can continue to comparing themselves to that one kid who they believed was better than him, distracting themselves entirely from what they originally sought to do. The key to overcoming these critics is to let go of them. Realize that these critics bind us to a single opinion and outlook on life. Realize that we cannot truly see what is real because we put everything through a filter.

Believe that you can let them go and then take action. The next time these critics make their voices heard. It can be during meditation or as we live our lives, take account of them and ask, “Is this what is?” Often times we project ourselves, our insecurities, our arrogance onto others and situations and after a few moments consideration can see that as well. Then accept the present, notice all of it details without listening to the judgment.

As we strive to live fully in the present we become mindful. We become more at peace with what preconceive, with what is, and what we believe will happen. Once we can embrace the now, we can focus and concentrate with what we meditate on.

Tricks to Get Promoted With Ease in Your Present Job

So you love positions of responsibility, cherish the feeling of being valued by peers/seniors and a high pay check never did you any harm! Well, these are some significant reasons that make us push our limits in our respective jobs and thereby get promoted. You think you know it all! Never mind, some more knowledge regarding keys to success will help you even further.

Once an employee consolidates his/her position in a certain department and gains enough experience, prestige and recognition for his/her work, it becomes natural for him/her to expect a justified economic reward for having done well. So, when it is time for you to expect that well-deserved raise, follow these tips and the much-deserved promotion won’t be far away -

1. Be Proactive: You must begin showing visible interest and willingness in taking up new responsibilities. It is recommended that you identify the desired position well in advance and obtain necessary facts and characteristics of that position. Thereafter, you must begin working on your skills to become eligible for the concerned position. For instance, if it is an international role you want, gaining fluency in some international languages might help your cause. If it is a leadership position you’re after, you must exhibit these skills effectively in presence of your superiors.

2. Work on your Qualification: It would be great if you can further your education/qualification simultaneously while performing well in your present profile. The trick is to show a lot of initiative, responsible behavior, perseverance and effectiveness in the present scope of work. Please note, a promotion would involve additional responsibilities and thus additional work load. All this can lead to a significant increase in work pressure. Therefore, you must be prepared to work and perform under stress at all times.

3. Exhibit your skills: Obtaining a promotion not only involves getting acquainted with desired professional skills and qualities, but also exhibiting them in critical business situations from time to time.

4. Be prepared for arguments: If you have done all the hard work and are ready to apply for that dream position in your organization, the first thing that you must do is be prepared with the arguments. A recommended trick is to talk to your boss in a secluded place without much disturbance. Your pitch must be calm and reasonable. It should focus primarily on your past performance and readiness to assume a new role. You should reinforce all your achievements and have ready answers to counter the initial rebuff. Do everything but never bring the personal reasons such as “rising mortgages”, “baby expenses” etc. into the argument.

To put it shortly, you have to sell your professional skills and abilities in a manner that your superiors are clearly able to match your skills with the demands of the vacant position.
